The man and his wife were both naked, and they were not ashamed.

God said, “Who told you that you were naked? Have you eaten from the tree that I commanded you not to eat from?”

Their eyes were opened, and they both knew that they were naked. They sewed fig leaves together, and made coverings for themselves.

Therefore I am terrified at his presence. When I consider, I am afraid of him.

if like Adam I have covered my transgressions, by hiding my iniquity in my heart,

When Moses saw that the people were out of control, (for Aaron had let them lose control, causing derision amongst their enemies),

The sinners in Zion are afraid. Trembling has seized the godless ones. Who amongst us can live with the devouring fire? Who amongst us can live with everlasting burning?

Your nakedness will be uncovered. Yes, your shame will be seen. I will take vengeance, and will spare no one.”

“Whom have you dreaded and feared, so that you lie, and have not remembered me, nor laid it to your heart? Haven’t I held my peace for a long time, and you don’t fear me?

Now therefore, why should we die? For this great fire will consume us. If we hear the LORD our God’s voice any more, then we shall die.

because if our heart condemns us, God is greater than our heart, and knows all things.

“Behold, I come like a thief. Blessed is he who watches, and keeps his clothes, so that he doesn’t walk naked, and they see his shame.”
