¶ All this was done to fulfil that which was spoken of the Lord, by the prophet saying:

And if any man say ought unto you, say ye that your master hath need of them, and straight way he will let them go.

All this was done that the scriptures of the prophets might be fulfilled. Then all the disciples forsook him and fled.

And they brought the colt to Iesus, and cast their garments on him, and he sat upon him.

And they brought him to Iesus. And they cast their raiment on the colt, and set Iesus theron.

¶ On the morrow much people that were come to the feast (when they heard that Iesus should come to Ierusalem,)

fear not daughter of Sion: behold thy king cometh sitting on an asse's colt.
