Whence was the baptism of Ihon? from heaven, or of men? And they thought in themselves, saying: if we shall say, from heaven, he will say unto us: why did ye not then believe him?

Iesus answered, and said unto them: I also will ask of you a certain question, which if ye assoil me, I in like wise will tell you by what authority I do these things.

But and if we shall say of men, then fear we the people. For all men held Ihon as a prophet.

And they held their peace. He took the man and healed him, and let him go:

They thought within themselves saying: If we shall say from heaven: he will say: Why then believed ye him not?

¶ Ihon bare witness of him saying: This was he of whom I spake, he that cometh after me, was before me because he was yer then I.

¶ There was a man sent from god, whose name was Ihon.

He that believeth on him shall not be condemned. But he that believeth not, is condemned all ready, because he believeth not in the name of the only son of God.

For (if our hearts condemn us) God is greater than our hearts, and knoweth all things.
