¶ But whereunto shall I liken this generation? it is like unto children, which sit in the market, and call unto their fellows,
He that hath ears to hear whithall, let him hear.
and say: we have piped unto you, and ye have not danced, we have mourned unto you, and ye have not sorrowed.
O generation of vipers, how can ye say well, when ye yourselves are evil? For of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaketh.
Verily I say unto you, all these things shall light upon this generation.
and greetings in the markets and to be called of men Rabbi.
Verily I say unto you, that this generation shall not pass, till all be fulfilled.
¶ And he said unto them in his doctrine: beware of the scribes which love to go in long, clothing: and love salutations in the market places,
¶ And he said: whereunto shall we liken the kingdom of God? or with what comparison shall we compare it?
¶ Woe be to you pharises: for ye love the uppermost seats in the synagogues, and greetings in the markets.
¶ Then said he: What is the kingdom of God like? or whereto shall I compare it?
