¶ And the Lord said: Whereunto shall I liken the men of this generation, and what thing are they like?
¶ Whosoever heareth of me these sayings, and doeth the same, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house on a rock:
¶ And he said: whereunto shall we liken the kingdom of God? or with what comparison shall we compare it?
But the pharyses and scribes despised the counsel of God, against themselves, and were not baptised of him.
They are like unto children sitting in the market place, and crying one to another, and saying: We have piped unto you, and ye have not danced: We have mourned to you, and ye have not wept.
