And unto him that smiteth thee on the one cheek, offer also the other. And him that taketh away thy gown, forbid not to take thy coat also.

Then spat they in his face, and beat him with their fists. And other smote him with the palm of their hands on the face,

and blindfolded him, and smote his face. And asked him saying: Arede who it is that smote thee?

Give to every man that asketh of thee. And if any man that take away thy goods, ask them not again.

When he had thus spoken, one of the ministers which stood by, smote Iesus on the face saying: Answerest thou the high priest so?

The high priest Ananias commanded them that stood by, to smite him on the mouth.

For ye suffered also with my bonds, and took a worth the spoiling of your goods, and that with gladness, remembering in yourselves how that ye had in heaven a better, and an enduring substance.
