¶ And when ye see Ierusalem besieged with an host, then understand, that the desolation of the same is nye.

¶ When ye then shall see the abomination and desolation (spoken of by Daniel the prophet) stand in the holy place: whosoever readeth it, let him understand it.

¶ Moreover when ye see the abominable desolation, whereof is spoken by Daniel the prophet, stand where it ought not, let him that readeth understand it. Then let them that be in jewrie, flee to the mountains.

For the days shall come upon thee, And thine enemies shall compass thee about with a bank. And shall besiege thee round about, and keep thee in on every side,

And they asked him, saying: Master when shall these things be. And what signs will there be, when such things shall come to pass.

¶ By faith the walls of Iericho fell down after they were compassed about, seven days.

¶ Wherefore let us also (seeing that we are compassed with so great a multitude of witnesses) lay away all that presseth down, and the sin that hangeth on us, and let us run with patience, unto the battle that is set before us,
