Greater love than this hath no man, than that a man bestow his life for his friends.
¶ I say unto you my friends: fear ye not them that kill the body, and after that have nothing that he can more do.
¶ I am a good shepherd, a good shepherd giveth his life for his sheep.
As my father knoweth me: even so know I my father. And I give my life for my sheep,
And for their sakes sanctify I myself, that they also might be sanctified thorow the truth.
and walk in love even as Christ loved us, and gave himself for us, an offering and a sacrifice of a sweet savour to God.
¶ Hereby perceive we love: that he gave his life for us: And we ought also to give our lives for the brethren.
