¶ When he was in Bethania, in the house of Simon the leper, even as he sat at meat, there came a woman having an alabaster box of ointment, called nard, that was pure and costly, and she brake the box and poured it on his head.

And the Lord saw her, and had compassion on her, and said unto her: weep not.

And Ihon called unto him two of his disciples, and sent them to Iesus saying: Art thou he that shall come: or shall we look for another?

¶ Then said Martha unto Iesus: Lord if thou hadst been here, my brother had not been dead:

and his sister sent unto him saying: Lord behold, he whom thou lovest is sick.

Then when Mary was come, where Iesus was and saw him she fell down at his feet, saying unto him: Lord if thou hadst been here, my brother had not been dead.

Then took Mary a pound of ointment called nardus, perfect and precious, and anointed Iesus' feet, and wept his feet with her hair, and all the house smelled of the savour of the ointment.

ye call me master and Lord, and ye say well, for so am I.

If I then your Lord and master have washed your feet, ye also ought to wash one another's feet.
