Again he appointeth in David a certain present day after so long a time, saying as it is rehearsed: this day if ye hear his voice, be not hard hearted.

He said unto them: how then doth David in spirit call him Lord, saying?

for David himself inspired with the holy ghost said: The Lord said to my Lord, sit on my right hand till I make thine enemies thy foot stool.

And David him self saith in the book of the Psalms: The Lord said unto my Lord, Sit on my right hand,

¶ Men and brethren, let me freely speak unto you of the patriarch David: For he is both dead and buried, and his sepulchre remaineth with us unto his day.

He saw before, and spake of the resurrection of Christ, that his soul should not be left in hell: neither his flesh should see corruption.

¶ When they agreed not among themselves, they departed, after that Paul had spoken one word: well spake the holy ghost by Esay the prophet unto our fathers,

so long as it is said: today if ye hear his voice, harden not your hearts, as when ye provoked.
