give no place unto the backbiter,
Then said Peter: Ananias how is it that Satan hath filled thine heart, that thou shouldest lie unto the holy ghost, and keep away part of the price of thy livelihood:
¶ Dearly beloved avenge not yourselves but give room unto the wrath of God. For it is written: vengeance is mine, and I will reward saith the Lord.
Put on the armour of God, that ye may stand steadfast against the crafty assaults of the devil.
Above all take to you the shield of faith, wherewith ye may quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.
¶ Submit yourselves to God, and resist the devil, and he will flye from you.
¶ Be sober and watch, for your adversary the devil as a roaring lion walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:
