¶ Rebuke not a senior: but exhort him as a father, and the younger men as brethren,

Lay hands suddenly on no man neither be part taker of other men's sins: Keep thyself pure.

for the which cause I also suffer this. Nevertheless I am not ashamed. For I know whom I have believed, and am sure that he is able keep that which I have committed to his keeping against that day.

And what things thou hast heard of me, many bearing witness, the same deliver to faithful men, which are apt to teach other.

¶ For this cause left I thee in Creta, that thou shouldest perform that which was lacking and shouldest ordain seniors in every city as I appointed thee.

Is there any man diseased among you? Let him call for the seniors of the congregation, and let them pray over him, and anoint him with oil in the name of the Lord:

¶ The seniors which are among you I exhort, which am also an senior, and a witness of the afflictions of Christ, and also a part taker of the glory that shall be opened:

The God of all grace, which called you unto his eternal glory by Christ Iesus, shall his own self after a little affliction make you perfect: shall settle, strengthe, and establishe you.

¶ The senior to the elect lady and her children which I love in the truth: And not I only, but also all that have known the truth,

¶ The senior unto the beloved Gaius, whom I love in the truth.
