Even as the son of man came, not to be ministered unto, but to minister: and to give his life for the redemption of many.

¶ I am a good shepherd, a good shepherd giveth his life for his sheep.

As my father knoweth me: even so know I my father. And I give my life for my sheep,

¶ Therefore doth my father love me, because I put my life from me, that I might take it again.

Greater love than this hath no man, than that a man bestow his life for his friends.

who then shall condemn? it is Christ which is dead, Ye rather which is risen again, which is also on the right hand of God and maketh intercession for us.

¶ For first of all I delivered unto you that which I received: how that Christ died for our sins, agreeing to the scriptures:

and that he died for all, because that they which live, should not henceforth live unto themselves: but unto him which died for them and rose again.

for he hath made him to be sin for us, which knew no sin, that we by his means should be that righteousness which before God is allowed.

and walk in love even as Christ loved us, and gave himself for us, an offering and a sacrifice of a sweet savour to God.

¶ I would not brethren have you ignorant concerning them which are fallen asleep, that ye sorrow not as other do which have no hope.

And this say we unto you in the word of the Lord, that we which live and are remaining in the coming of the Lord, shall not come yer they, which sleep.

then shall we which live and remain, be caught up with them also in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so shall we ever be with the Lord.

¶ Therefore let us not sleep as do other: but let us watch and be sober.

which gave himself a ransom for all men, that it should be preached at his time,

¶ It is a true saying, if we be dead with him, we also shall live with him.

which gave himself for us, to redeem us from all unrighteousness, and to purge us a peculiar people unto himself, fervently given unto good works.

which his own self bare our sins in his body on the tree, that we should be delivered from sin and should live in righteousness. By whose stripes ye were healed.

For as much as Christ hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, for to bring us to God, and was killed, as pertaining to the flesh: but was quickened in the spirit.
