¶ Take heed to yourselves, lest your hearts be overcome, with surfeiting and drunkenness, and cares of this world: and that, that day come on you unawares.

¶ This say I brethren, the time is short. It remaineth that they which have wives, be as though they had none:

and they that weep, be as though they wept not: and they that rejoice, be as though they rejoiced not: And they that buy, be as though they possessed not:

What is my reward then? Verily that when I preach the gospell, I make the gospell of Christ free, that I misuse not mine authority in the gospell.

No doubt the same that he sayeth, yet once more, signifieth the removing a way of those things which are shaken, as of things which have ended their course: that the things which are not shaken may remain.

and yet cannot tell what shall happen tomorrow. For what thing is your life? it is even a vapor that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away:

because that all flesh is as grass, and all the glory of man is as the flower of grass, the grass is withered, and the flower is faded away,

The end of all things is at hand.

And the world vanisheth away, and the lust thereof: but he that fulfilleth the will of God, abideth ever.
