For he must rule till he have put all his enemies under his feet.

The Lord said to my Lord, sit on my right hand: till I make thine enemies thy footstool.

for David himself inspired with the holy ghost said: The Lord said to my Lord, sit on my right hand till I make thine enemies thy foot stool.

For David is not ascended into heaven, but he said: The Lord said to my Lord sit on my right hand,

And hath put all things under his feet, and hath made him above all things, the head of the congregation,

Unto which of the angels said he at any time? Sit on my right hand till I make thine enemies thy footstool.

Thou hast put all things in subjection under his feet. In that he put all things under him, he left nothing that is not put under him.
