And as you go, preach and say, `The Kingdom of the Heavens is close at hand.'

Then began He to upbraid the towns where most of His mighty works had been done–because they had not repented.

There will stand up men of Nineveh at the Judgement together with the present generation, and will condemn it; because they repented at the preaching of Jonah, and mark! there is One greater than Jonah here.

From that time Jesus began to preach. »Repent,« He said, »for the Kingdom of the Heavens is now close at hand.«

Then Jesus travelled through all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues and proclaiming the Good News of the Kingdom, and curing every kind of disease and infirmity among the people.

»Blessed are those who have borne persecution in the cause of Righteousness, for to them belongs the Kingdom of the Heavens.«

»Blessed are the poor in spirit, for to them belongs the Kingdom of the Heavens.«

let Thy kingdom come; let Thy will be done, as in Heaven so on earth;

But make His Kingdom and righteousness your chief aim, and then these things shall all be given you in addition.

»The time has fully come,« He said, »and the Kingdom of God is close at hand: repent, and believe this Good News.

So John the Baptizer came, and was in the Desert proclaiming a baptism of the penitent for forgiveness of sins.

So they set out, and preached in order that men might repent.

Many of the descendants of Israel will he turn to the Lord their God;

But if it is by the power of God that I drive out the demons, it is evident that the Kingdom of God has come upon you.

I tell you, certainly not. On the contrary, if you are not penitent you will all perish as they did.

I tell you, certainly not. On the contrary, if you do not repent you will all perish just as they did.«

»I tell you that in the same way there is rejoicing in the presence of the angels of God over one repentant sinner.«

I tell you that in the same way there will be rejoicing in Heaven over one repentant sinner–more rejoicing than over ninety-nine blameless persons who have no need of repentance.

»`No, father Abraham,' he pleaded; `but if some one goes to them from the dead, they will repent.'«

So also, when you see these things happening, you may be sure that the Kingdom of God is near.

and that proclamation would be made, in His name, of repentance and forgiveness of sins to all the nations, beginning in Jerusalem.

Then fixing His eyes upon His disciples, Jesus said to them, »Blessed are you poor, because the Kingdom of God is yours.

and sent them out to proclaim the Kingdom of God and to cure the sick.

This statement of Peter's silenced his opponents. They extolled the goodness of God, and said, »So, then, to the Gentiles also God has given the repentance which leads to Life.«

Those times of ignorance God viewed with indulgence. But now He commands all men everywhere to repent,

»Repent,« replied Peter, »and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ, with a view to the remission of your sins, and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

and urging upon both Jews and Greeks the necessity of turning to God and of believing in Jesus our Lord.

but I proceeded to preach first to the people in Damascus, and then to those in Jerusalem and in all Judaea, and to the Gentiles, that they must repent and turn to God, and live lives consistent with such repentance.

Repent, therefore, and reform your lives, so that the record of your sins may be cancelled, and that there may come seasons of revival from the Lord,

For godly sorrow produces repentance leading to salvation, a repentance not to be regretted; but the sorrow of the world finally produces death.

It is God who has delivered us out of the dominion of darkness, and has transferred us into the Kingdom of His dearly-loved Son,

He must speak in a gentle tone when correcting the errors of opponents, in the hope that God will at last give them repentance, for them to come to a full knowledge of the truth

Therefore leaving elementary instruction about the Christ, let us advance to mature manhood and not be continually re-laying a foundation of repentance from lifeless works and of faith in God,

The Lord is not slow in fulfilling His promise, in the sense in which some men speak of slowness. But He bears patiently with you, His desire being that no one should perish but that all should come to repentance.

I have given her time to repent, but she is determined not to repent of her fornication.

Be mindful, therefore, of the height from which you have fallen. Repent at once, and act as you did at first, or else I will surely come and remove your lampstand out of its place–unless you repent.
