Enough for the learner to be on a level with his teacher, and for the servant to be on a level with his master. If they have called the master of the house Baal-zebul, how much more will they slander his servants?

»What shall I do for you?« said Jesus. »Rabboni,« replied the blind man, »let me recover my sight.«

and Peter, recollecting, said to Him, »Look, Rabbi, the fig-tree which you cursed is withered up.«

So he came, and going straight to Jesus he said, »Rabbi!« and kissed Him with seeming affection;

when Peter said to Jesus, »Rabbi, we are thankful to you that we are here. Let us put up three tents–one for you, one for Moses, and one for Elijah.«

But I have prayed for you that your faith may not fail, and you, when at last you have come back to your true self, must strengthen your brethren.«

Then Jesus turned round, and seeing them following He asked them, »What is your wish?« »Rabbi,« they replied- `Rabbi' means `Teacher' »where are you staying?«

»Rabbi,« cried Nathanael, »you are the Son of God, you are Israel's King!«

»Rabbi,« exclaimed the disciples, »the Jews have just been trying to stone you, and do you think of going back there again?«

»Mary!« said Jesus. She turned to Him. »Rabboni!« she cried in Hebrew: the word means `Teacher!'

He came to Jesus by night and said, »Rabbi, we know that you are a teacher from God; for no one can do these miracles which you are doing, unless God is with him.

they came to John and reported to him, »Rabbi, he who was with you on the other side of the Jordan and to whom you bore testimony is now baptizing, and great numbers of people are resorting to him.«

Meanwhile the disciples were urging Jesus. »Rabbi,« they said, »eat something.«

So when they had crossed the Lake and had found Him, they asked Him, »Rabbi, when did you come here?«

So His disciples asked Him, »Rabbi, who sinned –this man or his parents– that he was born blind?«

Not that we want to lord it over you in respect of your faith –we do, however, desire to help your joy– for in the matter of your faith you are standing firm.

(For we do not proclaim ourselves, but we proclaim Christ Jesus as Lord, and ourselves as your bondservants for the sake of Jesus.)

from whom the whole family in Heaven and on earth derives its name,

no longer as a slave, but as something better than a slave–a brother peculiarly dear to me, and even dearer to you, both as a servant and as a fellow Christian.

Do not be eager, my brethren, for many among you to become teachers; for you know that we teachers shall undergo severer judgement.

not lording it over your Churches but proving yourselves patterns for the flock to imitate.

I John, your brother, and a sharer with you in the sorrows and Kingship and patient endurance of Jesus, found myself in the island of Patmos, on account of the Word of God and the truth told us by Jesus.

Then I fell at his feet to worship him. But he exclaimed, »Oh, do not do that. I am a fellow bondservant of yours and a fellow bondservant of your brethren who have borne testimony to Jesus. Worship God.« Testimony to Jesus is the spirit which underlies Prophecy.

But he said to me, »Oh, do not do that. I am a fellow bondservant of yours, and a fellow bondservant of your brethren the Prophets and of those who are mindful of the teachings of this book. Worship God.«
