Later still he sent to them his son, saying, »`They will respect my son.'
Again he sent another party of servants more numerous than the first; and these they treated in the same manner.
»But the vine-dressers, when they saw the son, said to one another,« `Here is the heir: come, let us kill him and get his inheritance.'
while a voice came from Heaven, saying, »This is My Son, the dearly loved, in whom is My delight.«
He had still one left whom he could send, a dearly-loved son: him last of all he sent, saying, »`They will treat my son with respect.'
Then the owner of the vineyard said, »`What am I to do? I will send my son–my dearly-loved son: they will probably respect him.'
No human eye has ever seen God: the only Son, who is in the Father's bosom–He has made Him known.
»This I have seen, and I have become a witness that He is the Son of God.«
For so greatly did God love the world that He gave His only Son, that every one who trusts in Him may not perish but may have the Life of Ages.
