Jesus was now going up to Jerusalem, and He took the twelve disciples aside by themselves, and on the way He said to them,
»Because,« He replied, »while to you it is granted to know the secrets of the Kingdom of the Heavens, to them it is not.
When He arrived in the neighbourhood of Caesarea Philippi, Jesus questioned His disciples. »Who do people say that the Son of Man is?« He asked.
The next day a great crowd of those who had come to the Festival, hearing that Jesus was coming to Jerusalem,
No longer do I call you servants, because a servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, because all that I have heard from the Father I have made known to you.
not to all the people, but to witnesses –men previously chosen by God– namely, to us, who ate and drank with Him after He rose from the dead.
