So Jesus went out and saw an immense multitude, and felt compassion for them, and cured those of them who were out of health.

Moved with compassion, Jesus touched their eyes, and immediately they regained their sight and followed Him.

And when He saw the crowds He was touched with pity for them, because they were distressed and were fainting on the ground like sheep which have no shepherd.

Moved with pity Jesus reached out His hand and touched him. »I am willing,« He said; »be cleansed.«

But He would not allow it. »Go home to your family,« He said, »and report to them all that the Lord has done for you, and the mercy He has shown you.«

Accordingly they sailed away in the boat to a solitary place apart.

So when Jesus landed, He saw a vast multitude; and His heart was moved with pity for them, because they were like sheep which have no shepherd, and He proceeded to teach them many things.

If I were to send them home hungry, they would faint on the way, some of them having come a great distance.«

»and often it has thrown him into the fire or into pools of water to destroy him. But, if you possibly can, have pity on us and help us.«

»So he rose and came to his father. But while he was still a long way off, his father saw him and pitied him, and ran and threw his arms round his neck and kissed him tenderly.«

The Lord saw her, was moved with pity for her, and said to her, »Do not weep.«

And for this purpose it was necessary that in all respects He should be made to resemble His brothers, so that He might become a compassionate and faithful High Priest in things relating to God, in order to atone for the sins of the people.

For we have not a High Priest who is unable to feel for us in our weaknesses, but one who was tempted in every respect just as we are tempted, and yet did not sin.

and must be one who is able to bear patiently with the ignorant and erring, because he himself also is beset with infirmity.
