So He went to her, and taking her hand He raised her to her feet: the fever left her, and she began to wait upon them.

Moved with pity Jesus reached out His hand and touched him. »I am willing,« He said; »be cleansed.«

To this their reply is a scornful laugh. He, however, puts them all out, takes the child's father and mother and those He has brought with Him, and enters the room where the child lies.

Instantly the little girl rises to her feet and begins to walk (for she was twelve years old). They were at once beside themselves with utter astonishment;

so that the promise should be made sure to all Abraham's true descendants; not merely to those who are righteous through the Law, but to those who are righteous through a faith like that of Abraham. As it is written, »I have appointed you to be the forefather of many nations.«

who, in the exercise of the power which He has even to subject all things to Himself, will transform this body of our humiliation until it resembles His own glorious body.
