The question was put to Him by a Ruler:»Good Rabbi, what shall I do to inherit the Life of the Ages?«

»Why do you call me good?« replied Jesus; »there is no one good but One, namely God.

»And why do you all call me `Master, Master' and yet not do what I tell you?«

and, bringing them out of the prison, he exclaimed, »O sirs, what must I do to be saved?«

Stung to the heart by these words, they said to Peter and the rest of the Apostles, »Brethren, what are we to do?«
