And He came into His own country and proceeded to teach in their synagogue, so that they were filled with astonishment and exclaimed, »Where did he obtain such wisdom, and these wondrous powers?

They heard this, and were astonished; then left Him, and went their way.

All the crowd heard this, and were filled with amazement at His teaching.

On the third day they found Him in the Temple sitting among the Rabbis, both listening to them and asking them questions,

As Paul thus made his defence, Festus exclaimed in a loud voice, »You are raving mad, Paul; and great learning is driving you mad.«

As they looked on Peter and John so fearlessly outspoken –and also discovered that they were illiterate persons, untrained in the schools– they were surprised; and now they recognized them as having been with Jesus.
