In short, though knowing full well the sentence which God pronounces against actions such as theirs, as things which deserve death, they not only practise them, but even encourage and applaud others who do them.

while on the other hand upon the self-willed who disobey the truth and obey unrighteousness will fall anger and fury, affliction and awful distress,

in order that all may come under judgement who have refused to believe the truth and have taken pleasure in unrighteousness.

and »a Stone for the foot to strike against, and a Rock to stumble over.« Their foot strikes against it because they are disobedient to God's Message, and to this they were appointed.

But, above all, remember that, in the last days, men will come who make a mock at everything–men governed only by their own passions,
