And besides all these take the great shield of faith, on which you will be able to quench all the flaming darts of the Wicked one;
But let your language be, `Yes, yes,' or `No, no.' Anything in excess of this comes from the Evil one.
Not that we want to lord it over you in respect of your faith –we do, however, desire to help your joy– for in the matter of your faith you are standing firm.
Do not quench the Spirit.
But let us, belonging –as we do– to the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love, and for a helmet the hope of salvation.
