Noticing, however, that the Sanhedrin consisted partly of Sadducees and partly of Pharisees, he called out loudly among them, »Brethren, I am a Pharisee, the son of Pharisees. It is because of my hope of a resurrection of the dead that I am on my trial.«

and having a hope directed towards God, which my accusers themselves also entertain, that before long there will be a resurrection both of the righteous and the unrighteous.

Yes, and all the Prophets, from Samuel onwards –all who have spoken– have also announced the coming of this present time.

My meaning is that Christ has become a servant to the people of Israel in vindication of God's truthfulness –in showing how sure are the promises made to our forefathers–

But, when the time was fully come, God sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born subject to Law,

in expectation of the fulfilment of our blessed hope–the Appearing in glory of our great God and Saviour Jesus Christ;
