A new commandment I give you, to love one another; that as I have loved you, you also may love one another.

because Christ also once for all died for sins, the innocent One for the guilty many, in order to bring us to God. He was put to death in the flesh, but made alive in the spirit,

and He is an atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.

See what marvellous love the Father has bestowed upon us –that we should be called God's children: and that is what we are. For this reason the world does not recognize us– because it has not known Him.

We love because God first loved us.

And that testimony is to the effect that God has given us the Life of the Ages, and that this Life is in His Son.
