Then turning to His disciples He said, »For this reason I say to you, `Dismiss all anxious care for your lives, inquiring what you are to eat, and for your bodies, what you are to put on.'

»Another said,« `I am just married. It is impossible for me to come.'

For he is only a hired servant and cares nothing for the sheep.

Let a man pay his wife her due, and let a woman also pay her husband his.

And I would have you free from worldly anxiety. An unmarried man concerns himself with the Lord's business–how he shall please the Lord;

There is a difference too between a married and an unmarried woman. She who is unmarried concerns herself with the Lord's business –that she may be holy both in body and spirit; but the married woman concerns herself with the business of the world– how she shall please her husband.

Married men, be affectionate to your wives, and do not treat them harshly.

But if a man makes no provision for those dependent on him, and especially for his own family, he has disowned the faith and is behaving worse than an unbeliever.

Married men, in the same way, live with your wives with a clear recognition of the fact that they are weaker than you. Yet, since you are heirs with them of God's free gift of Life, treat them with honour; so that your prayers may not be hindered.
