I will be his father, and he shall be my son. If he shall commit iniquity, I will chasten him with the rod of men, and with the stripes of the children of men:

But he is in one mind, and who can turn him? and what his soul desireth, even that he doeth.

He hath also established them for ever and ever: he hath made a decree which shall not pass.

Also I will make him my first-born, higher than the kings of the earth.

Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure:

No man hath seen God at any time; the only begotten Son, who is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him.

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only-begotten Son, that whoever believeth in him, should not perish, but have everlasting life.

God hath fulfilled the same to us their children, in that he hath raised up Jesus again; as it is also written in the second psalm, Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee.

And as they went on their way, they came to a certain water: and the eunuch said, See, here is water; what doth hinder me to be baptized?

And declared to be the Son of God, with power, according to the spirit of holiness, by the resurrection from the dead:

But Christ as a son over his own house: whose house are we, if we hold fast the confidence, and the rejoicing of the hope firm to the end.

So also Christ glorified not himself to be made a high priest; but he that said to him, Thou art my Son, to-day have I begotten thee.

Though he was a Son, yet he learned obedience by the things which he suffered;
