To do justice and judgment is more acceptable to the LORD than sacrifice.

For I desired mercy, and not sacrifice: and the knowledge of God more than burnt-offerings.

But he said to them, Have ye not read what David did when he was hungry, and they that were with him;

Or have ye not read in the law, that on the sabbath the priests in the temple profane the sabbath, and are blameless?

But if ye had known what this meaneth, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice, ye would not have condemned the guiltless.

And he answered and said to them, Have ye not read, that he who made them, at the beginning made them male and female,

Jesus saith to them, Did ye never read in the scriptures, The stone which the builders rejected, the same is become the head of the corner: this is the Lord's doing, and it is marvelous in our eyes?

And saying, Repent ye: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.

Bring forth therefore fruits meet for repentance:

From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.

And concerning the dead that they rise; have ye not read in the book of Moses, how in the bush God spoke to him, saying, I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob?

And to love him with all the heart, and with all the understanding, and with all the soul, and with all the strength, and to love his neighbor as himself, is more than all whole burnt-offerings and sacrifices.

When Jesus heard it, he saith to them, They that are in health, have no need of a physician, but they that are sick; I came not to call the righteous, but sinners, to repentance.

He said to him, What is written in the law? how readest thou?

For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost.

And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.

And Jesus answering, said to them, They that are well need not a physician; but they that are sick.

I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.

Jesus answered them, Is it not written in your law, I said, Ye are gods?

When they heard these things, they held their peace, and glorified God, saying, Then hath God also to the Gentiles granted repentance to life.

Then Peter said to them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ, for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

Testifying both to the Jews, and also to the Greeks, repentance towards God, and faith towards our Lord Jesus Christ.

Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord,

Him hath God exalted with his right hand to be a Prince and a Savior, to give repentance to Israel, and forgiveness of sins.

The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is long-suffering toward us, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
