Saying, These last have wrought but one hour, and thou hast made them equal to us, who have borne the burden and heat of the day.

And it came to pass, when the sun rose that God prepared a vehement east wind; and the sun beat upon the head of Jonah, that he fainted, and wished in himself to die, and said, It is better for me to die than to live.

Ye said also, Behold, what a weariness is it! and ye have snuffed at it, saith the LORD of hosts; and ye brought that which was torn, and the lame, and the sick; thus ye brought an offering: should I accept this from your hand? saith the LORD.

Ye have said, It is vain to serve God: and what profit is it that we have kept his ordinance, and that we have walked mournfully before the LORD of hosts?

And when they had received it, they murmured against the master of the house.

And when ye perceive the south wind blowing, ye say, There will be heat; and it cometh to pass.

Where is boasting then? It is excluded. By what law? of works? No; but by the law of faith.

Seeing it is one God who will justify the circumcision by faith, and uncircumcision through faith.

Even to this present hour we both hunger, and thirst, and are naked, and are buffeted, and have no certain dwelling-place;

That the Gentiles should be joint-heirs, and of the same body, and partakers of his promise in Christ by the Gospel:

For the sun hath no sooner risen with a burning heat, but it withereth the grass, and its flower falleth, and the grace of the fashion of it perisheth: so also shall the rich man fade away in his ways.
