And it came to pass, when they had consumed the corn which they had brought from Egypt, their father said to them, Go again, buy us a little food.

If thou wilt send our brother with us, we will go down and buy thee food:

But if thou wilt not send him, we will not go down, for the man said to us, Ye shall not see my face, except your brother be with you.

And thou saidst to thy servants, Except your youngest brother shall come down with you, ye shall see my face no more.

And the king said, Let him turn to his own house, and let him not see my face. So Absalom returned to his own house, and saw not the king's face.

So Absalom dwelt two full years in Jerusalem, and saw not the king's face.

And Absalom answered Joab, Behold, I sent to thee, saying, Come hither, that I may send thee to the king, to say, Why am I come from Geshur? it had been good for me had I been there still: now therefore let me see the king's face; and if there is any iniquity in me, let him kill me.

And he said, Well; I will make a league with thee: but one thing I require of thee, that is, Thou shalt not see my face, except thou shalt first bring Michal, Saul's daughter, when thou comest to see my face.

And now behold, I know that ye all, among whom I have gone preaching the kingdom of God, will see my face no more.

Sorrowing most of all for the words which he spoke, that they should see his face no more. And they accompanied him to the ship.

I have seen, I have seen the affliction of my people who are in Egypt, and I have heard their groaning, and am come down to deliver them. And now come, I will send thee into Egypt.
