For they are Israelites, and theirs are the adoption as Sons, the visible Presence, the Covenants, the revealed Law, the Temple worship, and the Promises.

Listen to another parable. A man, who was an employer, once planted a vineyard, put a fence round it, dug a winepress in it, built a tower, and then let it out to tenants and went abroad.

For the Law was given through Moses, love and truth came through Jesus Christ.

When Jesus saw Nathanael coming towards him, he said: "Here is a true Israelite, in whom there is no deceit!"

For the promise is for you and for your children, and also for all those now far away, who may be called by the Lord our God."

Great in every way. First of all, because the Jews were entrusted with God's utterances.

For you did not receive the spirit of a slave, to fill you once more with fear, but the spirit of a son which leads us to cry 'Abba, Our Father.'

Not that God's Word has failed. For it is not all who are descended from Israel who are true Israelites;

Are they Hebrews? So am I! Are they Israelites? So am I! Are they descendants of Abraham? So am I!

Now it was to Abraham that the promises were made, 'and to his offspring.' It was not said 'to his offsprings,' as if many persons were meant, but the words were 'to thy offspring,' showing that one person was meant--and that was Christ.

Remember that you were at that time far from Christ; you were shut out from the citizenship of Israel; you were strangers to the Covenants founded on God's Promise; you were in the world without hope and without God.

It is true that even the first Covenant had its regulations for divine worship, and its Sanctuary--though only a material one.

the whole system being concerned only with food and drink and various ablutions--external ceremonials imposed until the coming of the New Order.

The part of the Tabernacle behind the second Curtain is called the Inner Sanctuary.

while above it, and overshadowing the Cover on which atonement was made, are the Cherubim of the Presence. But I must not now dwell on these things in detail.

Such, then, was the arrangement of the Tabernacle. Into the outer part priests are constantly going, in the discharge of their sacred duties;
