They will expel you from their Synagogues; indeed the time is coming when any one who kills you will think that he is making an offering to God.

But I count my life of no value to myself, if only I may complete the course marked out for me, and the task that was allotted me by the Lord Jesus--which was to declare the Good News of the Love of God.

The passage of Scripture which he was reading was this--'Like a sheep, he was led away to slaughter, and as a lamb is dumb in the hands of its shearer, so he refrains from opening his lips.

Why, too, do we risk our lives every hour?

Daily I face death-I swear it, Brothers, by the pride in you that I feel through my union with Christ Jesus, our Lord.

For, as it seems to me, God has exhibited us, the Apostles, last of all, as men doomed to death. We are made a spectacle to the universe, both to angels and to men!

As unknown, yet well-known; as at death's door, yet, see, we are living; as chastised, yet not killed;

Then indeed I shall know Christ, and the power of his resurrection, and all that it means to share his sufferings,
