Matthew 26:18

"Go into the city to a certain man," he answered, "and say to him 'The Teacher says--My time is near. I will keep the Passover with my disciples at your house.'"

And, if any one says anything to you, you are to say this-- 'The Master wants them'; and he will send them at once."

Nor must you allow yourselves to be called 'Leaders,' for you have only one Leader, the Christ.

But do not allow yourselves to be called 'Rabbi,' for you have only one Father, the heavenly Father.

The disciples did as Jesus directed them, and prepared the Passover.

"You know that in two days time the Festival of the Passover will be here; and that the Son of Man is to be given up to be crucified."

So he went up to Jesus at once, and exclaimed: "Welcome, Rabbi!" and kissed him;

Before he had finished speaking, some people from the house of the President of the Synagogue came and said: "Your daughter is dead! Why should you trouble the Teacher further?"

When I was with you day after day in the Temple Courts, you did not lay hands on me; but now your time has come, and the power of Darkness."

After saying this, Martha went and called her sister Mary, and whispered: "The Teacher is here, and is asking for you."

This was his reply--"The time has come for the Son of Man to be exalted.

Before the Passover Festival began, Jesus knew that the time had come for him to leave the world and go to the Father. He had loved those who were his own in the world, and he loved them to the last.

After saying this, Jesus raised his eyes heaven-wards, and said: "Father, the hour has come; honor thy Son, that thy Son may honor thee;

"Mary!" said Jesus. She turned round, and exclaimed in Hebrew: "Rabboni!" (or, as we should say, 'Teacher').

So they sought to arrest him; but no one touched him, for his time was not come yet.

"My time," answered Jesus, "is not come yet, but your time is always here.

Go yourselves up to the Festival; I am not going to this Festival yet, because my time has not yet come."
