So wherever he went--to villages, or towns, or farms--they would lay their sick in the market-places, begging him to let them touch only the tassel of his cloak; and all who touched were made well.

But meanwhile a woman, who had been suffering from hemorrhage for twelve years, came up behind and touched the tassel of his cloak.

For he had cured many of them, and so people kept crowding upon him, that all who were afflicted might touch him.

Hurried over the whole country-side, and began to carry about upon mats those who were ill, wherever they heard he was.

On which Jesus said: "Let me at least do this"; and, touching his ear, he healed the wound.

And every one in the crowd was trying to touch him, because a power went out from him which restored them all.

Came up behind and touched the tassel of his cloak. Instantly the hemorrhage ceased.

And Salvation is in him alone; for there is no other Name in the whole world, given to men, to which we must look for our Salvation."

Since we are on our trial to-day for a kind act done to a helpless man, and are asked in what way the man here before you has been cured,

The consequence was that people would bring out their sick even into the streets, and lay them on mattresses and mats, in the hope that, as Peter came by, at least his shadow might fall on some one of them.
