Luke 5:12

Twentieth Century New Testament 1904

On one occasion Jesus was staying in a town, when he saw a man who was covered with leprosy. When the leper saw Jesus, he threw himself on his face and implored his help: "Master, if only you are willing, you are able to make me clean."

After Jesus had reached Bethany, and while he was in the house of Simon the leper,

When he had gone indoors, the blind men came up to him; and Jesus asked them: "Do you believe that I am able to do this?" "Yes, Master!" they answered.

"My little daughter," he said, "is at the point of death; I beg you to come and place your hands on her, that her life may be spared."

And threw himself on his face at Jesus' feet, thanking him for what he had done; and this man was a Samaritan.

Stretching out his hand, Jesus touched him, saying as he did so: "I am willing; become clean." Instantly the leprosy left the man;

And that is why he is able to save perfectly those who come to God through him, living for ever, as he does, to intercede of their behalf.
