The next morning, in returning to the city, Jesus became hungry;

And, after he had fasted for forty days and forty nights, he became hungry.

So the Devil said to him: "If you are God's Son, tell this stone to become a loaf of bread."

Jacob's Spring was there, and Jesus, being tired after his journey, sat down beside the spring, just as he was. It was then about mid-day.

The fact that he himself suffered under temptation enables him to help those who are tempted.

Our High Priest is not one unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who has in every way been tempted, exactly as we have been, but without sinning.
