"The one who dipped his bread beside me in the dish," replied Jesus, "is the one who will betray me.

Then Jesus said to him: "Begone, Satan! for Scripture says-- 'Thou shalt do homage to the Lord thy God, and worship him only.'"

Yet see! the hand of the man that is betraying me is beside me upon the table!

Judas son of James, and Judas Iscariot, who proved a traitor.

He said this, not because he cared for the poor, but because he was a thief, and, being in charge of the purse, used to take what was put in it.

The Devil had already put the thought of betraying Jesus into the mind of Judas Iscariot, the son of Simon;

"Ananias," Peter exclaimed, "how is it that Satan has so taken possession of your heart that you have lied to the Holy Spirit, and kept back a part of the money paid for the land?
