"I have most earnestly wished," he said, "to eat this Passover with you before I suffer.
There is a baptism that I must undergo, and how great is my distress until it is over!
When the time came, Jesus took his place at table, and the Apostles with him.
For I tell you that I shall not eat it again, until it has had its fulfillment in the Kingdom of God."
Before the Passover Festival began, Jesus knew that the time had come for him to leave the world and go to the Father. He had loved those who were his own in the world, and he loved them to the last.
After saying this, Jesus raised his eyes heaven-wards, and said: "Father, the hour has come; honor thy Son, that thy Son may honor thee;
"My food," replied Jesus, "is to do the will of him who sent me, and to complete his work.
