"But we," said Peter, "we left what belonged to us and followed you."
"But we--we left everything, and followed you; what, then, shall we have?"
As Jesus went along, he saw a man, called Matthew, sitting in the tax-office, and said to him: "Follow me." Matthew got up and followed him.
"But we," began Peter, "we left everything and have followed you."
And, when they had brought their boats to shore, they left everything, and followed him.
Then he said to that disciple: "There is your mother." And from that very hour the disciple took her to live in his house.
But all the things which I once held to be gains I have now, for the Christ's sake, come to count as loss.
