Jesus went and took the bread and gave it to them, and the fish too.
"Bring some of the fish which you have just caught," said Jesus.
When they had come ashore, they found a charcoal fire ready, with some fish already on it, and some bread as well.
And then Jesus took the loaves, and, after saying the thanksgiving, distributed them to those who were sitting down; and the same with the fish, giving the people as much as they wanted.
"Who has five barley loaves and two fishes; but what is that for so many?"
Not indeed to every one, but to witnesses chosen beforehand by God--to us, who ate and drank with him after his resurrection from the dead.
