"John's baptism was a baptism upon repentance," rejoined Paul, "and John told the people (speaking of the 'One Coming; after him) that they should believe in him--that is in Jesus."
(John bears witness to him; he cried aloud--for it was he who spoke--"'He who is Coming' after me is now before me, for he was ever first");
John's answer was--"I baptize with water, but among you stands one whom you do not know;
He is coming after me, yet I am not worthy even to unfasten his sandal."
He came as a witness--to bear witness to the Light that through him all men might believe.
For, while John baptized with water, you shall be baptized with the Holy Spirit before many days have passed."
And I recalled the saying of the Master--'John baptized with water, but you shall be baptized with the Holy Spirit.'
