It is not what enters a man's mouth that 'defiles' him, but what comes out from his mouth--that does defile him!"

But Peter took Jesus aside, and began to rebuke him. "Master," he said, "please God that shall never be your fate!"

But the prudent ones answered 'No, for fear that there will not be enough for you and for us. Go instead to those who sell it, and buy for yourselves.'

And he saw a leper who came up, and bowed to the ground before him, and said: "Master, if only you are willing, you are able to make me clean."

They had noticed that some of his disciples ate their food with their hands 'defiled,' by which they meant unwashed.

When his mother interposed: "No, he is to be called John."

"You have no bucket, Sir, and the well is deep," she said; "where did you get that 'living water?'

Then he was aware of a voice which said--"Stand up, Peter, kill something, and eat."

"You are doubtless aware that it is forbidden for a Jew to be intimate with a foreigner, or even to enter his house; and yet God has shown me that I ought not to call any man 'defiled' or 'unclean.'

'Who are you, Lord?' I replied. Then the voice said 'I am Jesus of Nazareth whom you are persecuting.'

"Who are you, Lord?" he asked. "I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting," the voice answered;
