'Behold! the virgin shall be with child and shall give birth to a son, And they will give him the name Immanuel'--a word which means 'God is with us.'

Presently the servant said 'Sir, your order has been carried out, and still there is room.'

And the Word became Man, and dwelt among us, (We saw his glory--the glory of the Only Son sent from the Father), full of love and truth.

And the Immortal Life is this--to know thee the one true God, and Jesus Christ whom thou has sent as thy Messenger.

And Salvation is in him alone; for there is no other Name in the whole world, given to men, to which we must look for our Salvation."

Concerning his Son, Jesus Christ, our Lord; who, as to his human nature, was descended from David,

For no distinction is made between the Jew and the Greek, for all have the same Lord, and he is bountiful to all who invoke him.

With reference, then, to eating food that has been offered to idols-we are aware that an idol is nothing in the world, and that there is no God but one.

Yet for us there is only one God, the Father, from whom all things come (and for him we live), and one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom all things come (and through him we live).

Now mediation implies more than one person, but God is one only.

There is but one God and Father of all--the God who is over all, pervades all, and is in all.

I urge you, as in the sight of God, the source of all life, and of Christ Jesus who before Pontius Pilate made the great profession of Faith--

to Jesus, the intermediary of a new Covenant, and to the Sprinkled Blood that tells of better things than the blood of Abel.

And that is why he is able to save perfectly those who come to God through him, living for ever, as he does, to intercede of their behalf.

But Jesus, as we see, has obtained a ministry as far excelling theirs, as the Covenant of which he is the intermediary, based, as it is, on better promises, excels the former Covenant.

And that is why he is the intermediary of a new Covenant; in order that, as a death has taken place to effect a deliverance from the offenses committed under the first Covenant, those who have received the Call may obtain the eternal inheritance promised to them.

My children, I am writing to you to keep you from sinning; but if any one should sin, we have one who can plead for us with the Father--Jesus Christ, the Righteous--

and in the midst of the lamps one 'like a man, in a robe reaching to his feet,' and with a golden girdle across his breast.
