Is not wisdom with the aged and understanding bring long life?

Planted in the House of Adonai, they will flourish in the courts of our God.

Gray hair is a crown of glory, found on the path of righteousness.

But as he was arguing about righteousness, self-control, and the coming judgment, Felix became afraid and said, “Go away for now! When I find time, I will summon you.”

For through the grace given me, I say to everyone among you not to think more highly of yourself than you ought to think—but to use sound judgment, as God has assigned to each person a measure of faith.

Come to your senses as you ought, and stop sinning! For some have no knowledge of God—I say this to your shame.

Every competitor exercises self-control in all respects. They do it to receive a perishable crown, but we do it to receive an imperishable one.

For if we are out of our minds, it is for God; if we are in our right mind, it is for you.

gentleness, and self-control—against such things there is no law.

Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable—if there is any virtue and if there is anything worthy of praise—dwell on these things.

so then, let us not sleep as the others do, but let us remain on the alert and sober-minded.

But since we are of the day, let us be sober-minded—putting on the breastplate of faithfulness and love, and the hope of salvation as a helmet.

the sexually immoral, homosexuals, slave-traders, liars, perjurers, and for anything else that opposes sound teaching—

and the grace of our Lord overflowed with the faith and love that are in Messiah Yeshua.

To Timothy, a true child in faith: Grace, mercy, shalom from God the Father and Messiah Yeshua, our Lord!

Now the goal of this command is love from of a pure heart and a clear conscience and a genuine faith.

Women likewise must be dignified, not backbiting; clear-minded, trustworthy in every respect.

An overseer, then, must be beyond criticism—the husband of one wife, clear-minded, self-controlled, respectable, hospitable, able to teach,

managing his own household well, keeping his children under control with all respectfulness.

Servant-leaders likewise must be dignified, not double-speaking, not addicted to much wine, not greedy for dishonest gain.

Never speak harshly to an older man but appeal to him as a father; to younger men as brothers;

This testimony is true. For this reason rebuke them sharply, so they might be sound in the faith,

Rather he must be hospitable, loving what is good, self-controlled, upright, devout, disciplined.

in all things showing yourself to be an example of good deeds—integrity in instruction, dignity,

yet for love’s sake I appeal to you instead. I, Paul, am an old man and now also a prisoner belonging to Messiah Yeshua.

So brace your minds for action. Keep your balance. And set your hope completely on the grace that will be brought to you at the revelation of Yeshua the Messiah.

Now the end of all things is near. So be self-controlled and sober-minded for prayer.

Stay alert! Watch out! Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, searching for someone to devour.

and to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control, patience; and to patience, godliness;
