To the pure all things are pure; but to those who are defiled and unbelieving, nothing is pure. Both their mind and conscience are defiled.

Haughty eyes and a proud heart— the lamp of the wicked is sin.

There is a generation that is pure in its own eyes, and yet is not cleansed from its filth.

So Haggai said, “If one who is unclean by contact with a corpse touches any of these, does it become unclean?” The kohanim answered and said, “It does become unclean.”

But the things that proceed out of the mouth come forth from the heart, and those things make the man unholy.

Again a voice came to him, a second time: “What God has made clean, you must not consider unholy.”

I know, and am persuaded in the Lord Yeshua, that nothing is unholy in itself; but it is unholy for the one who considers it unholy.

Stop tearing down the work of God for the sake of food. Indeed all things are clean, but wrong for the man who by eating causes stumbling.

But the one who has doubts is condemned if he eats, because it is not of faith. And whatever is not of faith is sin.

“Everything is permitted”—but not everything is helpful. “Everything is permitted”—but not everything builds up.

Eat whatever is sold in the meat market, without raising questions of conscience.

Therefore, whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.

But that knowledge is not in everyone—some, so accustomed to idols up until now, eat food as an idol sacrifice; and their conscience, being weak, is defiled.

and constant friction between people corrupted in mind and deprived of the truth, who suppose that godliness is a means of gain.

So let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, with hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience and body washed with pure water.

See to it that no one falls short of the grace of God; and see to it that no bitter root springs up and causes trouble, and by it many be defiled.

how much more will the blood of Messiah—who through the eternal Spirit offered Himself without blemish to God—cleanse our conscience from dead works to serve the living God?
