Then Adonai saw that the wickedness of humankind was great on the earth, and that every inclination of the thoughts of their heart was only evil all the time.

When Adonai smelled the soothing aroma, Adonai said in His heart, “I will never again curse the ground on account of man, even though the inclination of the heart of humankind is evil from youth. Nor will I ever again smite all living creatures, as I have done.

Who can make something pure out of the impure? No one!

How then can a man be righteous with God? How can one born of a woman be pure?

Let Your hand be ready to help me, for I have chosen Your precepts.

I have strayed like a lost sheep— seek Your servant. For I did not forget Your mitzvot.

I run the course of Your mitzvot, for You open wide my heart.

Behold, I long for Your precepts. Revive me by Your righteousness.

Oh that my ways were steadfast to observe Your decrees!

For I know my transgressions and my sin is ever before me.

No one calls on Your Name, or stirs himself up to take hold of You. For You have hidden Your face from us, and have consumed us, because of our iniquities.

For out of the heart come evil thoughts, murder, adultery, sexual immorality, theft, false witness, and slander.

If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Ruach ha-Kodesh to those who ask Him!”

What is born of the flesh is flesh, and what is born of the Spirit is spirit.

Instead, put on the Lord Messiah Yeshua, and stop making provision for the flesh—for its cravings.

For I do not understand what I am doing—for what I do not want, this I practice; but what I hate, this I do.

For the good that I want, I do not do; but the evil that I do not want, this I practice.

Thanks be to God—it is through Messiah Yeshua our Lord! So then, with my mind I myself serve the Torah of God; but with my flesh, I serve the law of sin.

For when we were in the flesh, the sinful passions that came through the Torah were working in our body parts to bear fruit for death.

For the flesh sets its desire against the Ruach, but the Ruach sets its desire against the flesh—for these are in opposition to one another, so that you cannot do what you want.

Now those who belong to Messiah have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.

For the One working in you is God—both to will and to work for His good pleasure.

Not that I have already obtained this or been perfected, but I press on if only I might take hold of that for which Messiah Yeshua took hold of me.

For we also once were foolish, disobedient, deluded, enslaved to various desires and pleasures, spending our lives in malice and envy, hateful and hating one another.

As a result, he lives the rest of his time in the flesh no longer for human desires, but for God’s will.
