A song: a psalm of Asaph.
Of David. To You, Adonai, I call— my Rock, do not be deaf to me. If You were silent to me, I would become like those going down to the Pit.
You have seen it, Adonai—be not silent! Adonai, be not far from me.
Our God comes, and does not keep silent. A fire is devouring before Him, and it storms around Him mightily.
“I have held My peace a long time, I have been still and restrained Myself. Now like a woman in labor I groan, gasping and panting at once.
But for Your sake we are slain all day. We are counted as sheep for slaughter.
A psalm of Asaph. God, Elohim Adonai has spoken and summoned the earth from the rising of the sun to its setting.
