You planted them, so they have taken root. They are growing, bearing fruit. You are near in their mouth, yet far from their mind.

Yet I had planted you as a choice vine from completely faithful seed. How then did you become to Me a wandering wild vine?

Then I sent the hornet before you and it drove them out from before you—the two kings of the Amorites—not by your sword or your bow.
